This is definitely the most sinister of my gothic series of original paintings. What was I thinking? I have no explanation, except that I was very ill with asthma at the time I was working on this painting and therefore, not exactly in an uplifted fram of mind. Athough grim In subject I rather like this painting. 'Beheaded' is an attention getter! It has the limited color palette and haunting eyes that have become the hallmark of Tara Hutton paintings. I even went as far as to make the womans eyes as red as here hair and robed costume!
