| I have a deep affection for paintings with a limited color palette. With 'Winter Watch' I was trying to move away from the sinister content that typifies most Gothic artwork. Instead I slanted towards Romanticism. The gray-blue of winter and trees that are bare of foliage were my inspiration and I used Victorian influenced clothing on the figures. But this painting has my signature Art Deco Influence. SOLD |
